Luca Toni sulks after being subbed

flattr this!

Luca Toni was substituted in the first half of Bayern Munich’s match against Schalke today.  So he decided to go home.  Rather than watching the rest of the match in support of the team, Toni left the stadium and drove home.

To say that Toni is not very happy at Bayern is an understatement.  He doesn’t get on with Louis Van Gaal, and is not backward in letting the world know.  The big problem as far as he is concerned is that he is not a guaranteed starter for Bayern, and there is a World Cup 9 months away.

Walking out and going home in a huff is, of course, the ideal way to ensure that he gets more first team football.  A January departure is likely.  Toni is keen on a move back to Italy, probably Roma, but apparantly Stuttgart and West Ham (!) are also interested.

About Mark Chalcraft

I've been watching football since before 1992, when it was actually invented. I keep watching it even though I don't like what certain parts of the game have come to represent. A huge fan and proponent of non league football, you can often find me waffling on about all things to do with the semi-professional game. And moaning about the Premier League, FIFA and all things to do with money in the game.
